All they that wait
Isaiah 30:18 “And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.”
Even in days of judgement from the Lord, He will be known – by those who wait on Him – as the gracious One.
He is a God of judgement, this passage tells us. But in the same context, He is called gracious and merciful.
He is the One who blesses those who wait.
The reality is, He is waiting to show mercy to everyone who calls on Him. Though we so often reject Him, in attitude and action, He waits.
He wants to rise and comfort us. He is a God who does right by us. He is God of justice. That’s why judgement is required.
But He is ready to bless those who turn to Him.
This longsuffering God so often gives us time, time we do not deserve, to turn from our sin to Him.
There is no guarantee of more time. Today is the day.
