Blessed be the Lord
Blessed be the Lord
Ruth 4:14 “And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.”
Ruth and Boaz are now married and have just delivered a son. His name is Obed.
You may recognize the name Obed as the father of Jesse, who is the father of David the king.
When the story began, Naomi was mourning the loss of her husband and two sons. Now she celebrates the birth of a blessed grandson.
God has secured her future and the future of her loving daughter in law Ruth. This family will be renowned in Israel.
The grace of God in sending this kinsman redeemer, Boaz, is so clearly seen in the account.
The Lord has blessed this foreigner, this Moabitess, Ruth, providing her a hope and a future, a family that will be remembered forever.
She and Boaz continue a linneage that will bring forth another Redeemer, One who can provide a hope and a future for every foreigner.
Jesus, the son of God, the redeemer of mankind who would die on a cross in our place. Securing an eternal future in heaven with God.
