Come unto me

Jesus says "come unto me" in Matthew 11:28-29, promising to give rest. We consider the burdens of life in this audio devotional, and how Jesus can help.

Come unto me

Matthew 11:28-29 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”

So many in our society are weary, burdened, and without rest. Jesus walked among those with similar difficulties.

In His day, and in our day, Jesus is the answer.

This is not because the world changes when we come to know Him, it doesn’t. And it’s not because our circumstances change, very likely, they don’t.

It is because He walks with us. And He alters our character to confront circumstances – no matter what they are.

The burdens don’t go away. But He is someone with the strength to carry them.

We don’t come to Him for an easy life. We come to Him for help and strengthening and encouragement and rest when things are not easy.

Disciples worldwide can testify of the truth of this passage, no matter how hard it gets.

Matthew 11:28-29 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
