Did not Job sin

Job 2:9-10 “Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.”

God allowed Satan to touch Job’s body, but not to take his life. In this context, he is dealing with boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.

In these very difficult moments, his wife speaks up. Remember, she has faced terrible tragedy as well, as their possessions have been taken and their children killed.

She has seen Job’s integrity throughout these trials, but she has lost heart and given up on God, herself, it seems.

Job’s perspective remains, as he provides every reader with a thought-provoking question.

If we receive good from God, how can we not receive adversity and affliction as well?

Job believes in our good God, and this belief results in faithful action.
