Full of trouble

Full of trouble

Job 14:1 “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.”

There are few more qualified than Job to make a comment like this on the troubles of life.

We are all just human beings, he says, our lives are short and full of trouble.

This can be seen as a morbid and discouraging thought, or a truth that can increase our resolve to live Godly in Christ Jesus.

We should remind ourselves that we are only flesh and blood.

We should further expect trouble, not calm waters and smooth sailing.

And we should also be prepared for that trouble to continue a while and to have some depth.

At the end of the trouble, we face eternity somewhere – either eternal life or eternal death in a place of punishment.

The choices we make, to rely upon our own flesh or upon an almighty God, in the midst of these troubles, will make all the difference.

Job was choosing, even in these most difficult moments of life, to trust God.

He is the Creator that intervenes to provide every good and right we experience in this world. He can be trusted and relied upon.

Believing and following Him are what make this short life, full of trouble, worth living.

Job 14:1 “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.”
