The sons of God
The sons of God
I John 3:1 “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”
The Father’s love is worth stepping back to behold. By it, we are brought into God’s family through faith in Jesus Christ.
This means we have an inheritance of eternal life with Him. And that we live with access to His power by the Holy Spirit.
Being part of God’s family also separates us from the world.
While the world is living for things which can only satisfy the flesh, we live for a kingdom above – God’s kingdom.
The world’s system does not acknowledge or understand God. As it says here, it knows Him not.
We are also unknown, often misunderstood, sometimes despised, even persecuted.
The good news is that men in the world can come to know Him. But we must continue living for the world above, pointing those who will hear to Jesus.
Society at large may never accept us, but individuals, who see His light reflected by us, may just accept Him.
