To every creature
To every creature
Mark 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
Jesus died and was buried and has risen from the dead at this point in the text. He offers His disciples a command before He returns to heaven.
We call it the great commission, because it's the life's work of every believer in Christ.
As we walk daily in relationship with Him, we must live and speak the truth of His word.
We live and speak in this way to make disciples of others He loves. Everyone must hear, everyone must know who He is and what He has done.
This statement of the commission is focused on preaching, that is, to proclaim after the manner of a herald. To raise our voices with the good news.
The Matthew statement of this commission mentions our responsibility to baptize and teach everything Jesus commands.
This preaching and teaching and baptizing and living for God is the greatest commission a person can have.
Jesus offers light and life in a world full of darkness and death. He relies upon us to reflect that light and to manifest that life so that everyone can see.
He empowers us to do it. So, let us go forth.
